BDO Belgium reinforces its presence in the Brussels region with a second partnership in two months.

Zaventem, 11 June 2013 - BDO Belgium and Moore Stephens FS, the former Brussels firm of the Moore Stephens International network (*), have decided to join forces as from the 1st of July 2013. The firm, with a team of approximately 20 people, offers financial services, with a particular expertise in local and international accounting and tax as well as general consulting and business services.

From a practical point of view, there will be no major changes for the new colleagues, as the team from Avenue Louise (Blue Tower) will not be moving, and will immediately be strengthened and supported by BDO colleagues to develop further its services and turnover, currently around 2 MIO EUR.

Hans Wilmots, CEO BDO Belgium: “The office of Christopher Thubron has an excellent and established name, and fits perfectly within our strategic ambition to grow continuously in a controlled manner. We want to achieve this growth by welcoming offices, such as this one, that share our company culture: we are personal, professional and pragmatic. Moreover, we are passionate about our profession and about the relationships with our clients. An office in the centre of Brussels has been one of our priorities for quite a while now. Brussels remains an exceptional market, with its unique combination of local and international clients, and we intend to develop further in that market.”

Christopher Thubron, Managing Partner Moore Stephens FS: “For a while now, I have been looking for the best solution for our firm, and by joining forces with BDO, I have found the ideal partner able to welcome my staff and clients, with the right spirit and best cultural fit. The combined expertise and experience of BDO with smaller as well as larger clients and their skills and resources to support local and international business will enable us to give the best service with a wider range which can only benefit their further development as well as providing more opportunities for our people in this rapidly developing environment."

After the deal with Cockpit Group headed by Grégoire Talbot, two months earlier, this is the second strategic partnership for BDO Belgium in the Brussels area. The combination of local and international clients is nowhere as intense as it is in Brussels, and BDO intends to focus on this particular clientele.

The complete team will be part of BDO Belgium as from the 1st of July 2013.
