The first edition of the HEC Liège Business Game powered by BDO was a success!

On the 15th February 2020, the first edition of the HEC Liège Business Game was organized by students from HEC Liège, Management School of the University of Liège.
The HEC Liège Business Game provides the opportunity to students, in teams of 2, to put their academic knowledge into practice by experiencing real-life cases prepared by BDO and Gaming1 (Ardent Group).
In the first challenge, fully powered by BDO, students were asked to create a business plan in respect of the commercialization of interconnected drones using Artificial Intelligence. The winning team worked out a business plan for a company securing the transport of products within Benelux seaports and airports.
The second challenge, brought by Gaming1, focused on the conception of an innovative way of gambling. Students had to create a financial algorithm based on new technologies.
Both challenges focus on testing students’ abilities to work under pressure and aim to improve their skills in a real-life experience mixing digitalization, finance, marketing and strategy.
To conclude, a statement of Pauline Beaume, a student from HEC-Liège who summarizes this first HEC Liège Business Game as follows:
“The challenges proposed by the sponsors were innovative and made us think outside the box, which is obviously a very good learning experience. I really enjoyed working with different people and the interaction with my teammates. As for the organization, it was very good, especially for a first edition! In short, taking part in the HEC Liège Business Game means learning while having a great time!”
