AI Act officially published
On 12 July 2024, the AI Act was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
While the AI Act will enter into force in 20 days from 12 July 2024, its implementation will occur in stages. Notably, Chapter I and Chapter II (prohibitions on unacceptable risk AI) will apply after 6 months, with other parts following later.
The AI Act categorises AI systems based on their risk levels, mandating that both developers and users ("deployers") adhere to specific requirements and conditions according to these levels. Certain high-risk AI applications will even be prohibited in the EU six months after the Act's publication.
For businesses and organisations, this marks a crucial period to prepare for compliance!
