Brigitte Braeckmans

Brigitte joined BDO in 2008 and brings over 27 years of experience in VAT. She works closely with the international BDO network's tax professionals, supporting clients with international transactions. Brigitte regularly provides both internal and external VAT trainings, sharing her extensive knowledge and expertise.

In her role, Brigitte frequently advises on various VAT issues, including national and international transactions, and offers VAT guidance to public authorities. She assists foreign companies with obtaining Belgian VAT identification numbers, sets up and reviews VAT compliance, and handles the VAT aspects in multiple due diligence assignments. Additionally, Brigitte performs VAT audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Brigitte also supports clients during VAT reviews conducted by the VAT Authorities and engages in negotiations with these authorities regarding rulings. Her comprehensive approach and dedication provide valuable support to clients navigating complex VAT regulations.
