Mathias Lambrechts

Mathias Lambrechts is a Senior Consultant at BDO Belgium, where he has been working since 2021. He is an integral part of the Risk Advisory team with three years of professional experience. Mathias has honed his expertise in areas such as Internal Control, IT audit, risk management, SOC2, and ISAE 3402 attestation services. 

He has built a thorough understanding of internal control frameworks, particularly in relation to SOC2 and ISAE 3402 standards. Mathias has been involved in auditing and leading multiple Third-Party Assurance (SOC 2) reports, focusing on Information Security assurance. His experience spans various sectors including telecommunication, PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, and Managed services. He has effectively assessed and thus a thorough understanding of IT Service Management processes such as access management, incident and operational management, change management and continuity management. 

In addition to his auditing roles, Mathias has led risk management engagements, helping clients set up their comprehensive risk management framework. He has identified major risks at the process level and created action plans to enforce internal control frameworks. Furthermore, Mathias has performed ISO 27001 gap analyses for clients aiming to comply with the information security standard, offering tailored advice to align their ISMS and ISP with certification requirements.
